1/10/2024 0 Comments Dmc 5 nero devil trigger![]() His new look also isn't doing him any favors, that's for sure. Unfortunately, he has not done that in Devil May Cry 5, and he has actually reverted to something worse. While he did occasionally use profanity to express his distrust in the elders, a common thing for some teenagers no doubt, I really rooted for Nero to grow out of his insecurities and become an adult like Dante. This led to some tragic mood swings, but, ultimately, he grew stronger and became more willing to fight. In that game, Nero was basically forced to take on the role of demon hunter, but he had little experience and was very young. This is markedly different, and worse, than what occurred with Nero in Devil May Cry 4. The lack of character development doesn't make me want to get behind Nero. While he is slightly older and more experienced than he was in Devil May Cry 4, he has shown no improvement, instead spitting curses left and right and being just downright obnoxious. He is now the epitome of pushiness and incivility, and he behaves like a spoiled child. That is not the case with Nero in Devil May Cry 5. It's true that some level of cockiness is certainly required if you're going to be dealing with otherworldly demons, but the writers have always made sure to show restraint and keep Dante as a likable character. Overconfidence has always been an integral part of the characters in the Devil May Cry series, including Dante. Nero Acts Like A Child and Has A Bad Haircut Moving forward, Capcom should refocus its efforts on Dante. His writing is poor, his presentation is obnoxious, and his combat skills are questionable. This was evident leading up to the game's release, through numerous trailers, gameplay videos, and the demo itself, and it is firmly established in the final version of the title. However, Devil May Cry 5 changes all of this Nero's look, character traits, and combat skills have all been downgraded. I don’t know anything about Vergil DT, but I am going to assume he got it through power as well and not like Nero, otherwise his ideology that humans are stronger technically would fall apart since Nero is more human than demon.Īlso for the people who say Nero is stronger, no, just no, it was the same scenario as M13 in DMC3, Dante&Vergil fight and tire each other out, Arkham/Nero step in and beat up both characters.Additionally, his design and characterization weren't too far off from Dante's, which meant that playing as Nero instead didn't feel like a sacrifice. A main point I’d like to mention is that Nero’s DT used to be referred to as the Perfect Devil-Trigger in concept art, so perhaps it is because he is 25% demon, as well as truly gaining through real reasons, rather than gaining a devil form through power (like Vergil and Dante, DMC3 DT came through a power influx, and Dante’s real DT came about when he started becoming powerful enough that he had more than enough demonic energy for his own DT, rather than being motivated and having the drive to become powerful.) This is similar to DMC4, but different because this is entirely on his own, while he had help from the Yamato (and part of Vergil’s spirit, who taught him to use the Yamato and become stronger).Īnd why is his DT so vastly different from other DTs? Well most demons are pretty unique so a particular form for them isn’t out of the question, Dante & Vergil have similarities but major differences in both of their designs. The love he has for Kyrie, Dante, V and Vergil is his drive, and his motivation is the need to get stronger to protect those that he loves. His unconscious love becoming real when he screams “I’m not letting you die.”. So in DMC5, Nero gains his devil-trigger by having enough drive and motivation to become stronger, to protect the ones he loves, and while he may not LOVE Dante or Vergil yet, he knows they are family, and unconsciously has love for both of them. I could be wrong about this, but this idea that demons can become stronger purely through motivation&drive May suggest that the demons, Riot, Chaos and Fury, are all the same species, but each had a different motive & drive which caused them to evolve into their specific forms, Riot being a careless demon but also evasive, Chaos being very in your face and aggressive, while Fury is the more evasive and tactical of the two, clearly evolving to a higher form than Riot or Chaos. In DMC5, and in novels I believe, Demons are able to “devil-trigger” through pure motive and inspiration. The Yamato became a catalyst which allowed him to unlock a pseudo-DT, a devil-trigger that grants him the abilities of a demon, but not the look. The arm is just an accident really, a plot device for him to figure out he is a demon, he technically always had his DT, but needed to unlock it. He is demon, demonic blood is in his system all the time.
